About the Chris Bedgood Team
Chris Bedgood, Realtor
Experience:
Chris Bedgood is an experienced Realtor and proud member of the San Diego Association of Realtors as well as the California and National Association of Realtors. He is also a successful real estate investor and he understands the business of selling and buying Short Sales, as well as the the 'ins' and 'outs' of buying Bank Owned properties. Chris is very informed and experienced with all of San Diego county real estate, from West county to East county. He is also a downtown San Diego specialist. With the hundreds of different buildings downtown, it is important to have someone who is knowledgeable about each building, the views from each building and whether or not that building has issues that we should know about before making an offer to buy.
Background:
Chris Bedgood honorably served his country from 1987 to 1994 in the United States Navy. He was an Aviation Electrician’s Mate and Naval Flight Engineer/Aircrewman who served in the Persian Gulf War --‘Desert Storm’. After traveling the world with the Navy and spending 7 years serving his country in places like Italy and Washington, D.C., he was honorably discharged in 1994. After receiving his FAA aircraft mechanics license he immediately received several job offers to work on corporate jets such as the Gulfstream 3, 4 and 5. He accepted one that eventually took him to California. Aviation was very good to him BUT there was always a feeling that something bigger was out there for him to do. ---Something was missing. ---He found out what that was when he bought his first home for $200,000 with a 100% financing VA loan. He couldn’t afford the townhouse in Costa Mesa, California but he knew he had stumbled across a great deal---a foreclosure---- and that he ‘must’ make it work----and he did. Within 3 years the property was worth $475,000! Chris was hooked! While still working in aviation Chris decided to earn his real estate license and began his career in the real estate business. His first investment home purchase was to help his Brother out in Doraville, Georgia. Chris and his brother are now partners in that house and it has over $80k in equity. It was a great feeling to be able to help a family member through buying real estate. That first year Chris set goals to purchase 4 properties but he purchased 5 instead. And the rest is history in the making!
